Where will I sleep tonight?

Dec. 21st I had an electrical fire while I was at breakfast with a friend. I had old screw in fuses, everyong who saw it has said how lucky I am. The rain probably started the fire and probably put it out. I am very lucky, my house didn't catch on fire, my dogs were not killed. I have friends and relatives that have been taking me in nights so I can shower. The art studio which is a few feet from the house has a box fireplace and enough windows that I can see to get my greeting cards I have been working on done.
I am very frustrated. Being the holidays the inspectors are out. The electrician is frustrated, he has much of the work done, enough that I can have DP&L turn it on.
This shows me how unprepared I am for the unexpected.  This is my 9th day with no electric. Thank God we have had a very mild winter and my pipes have not been in danger of freezing.  When I pay my dad and friend back for the 3000.00 electrician's bill I will start saving for a Honda genertor for Little Sanitee. Solar would have done me little good here. Ths time of the year in Ohio is so overcast that solar panels would not get enough sunlight to power them.
I am able to use Panera's wifi this morning. I have not had the time to catch up with what is happening on everyone else's blogs.  I hope everyone had a good Christmas. Don't drink and drive this New Years, please. I hope to find out what I have missed soon.

Cold Dreary Ohio and a Little Whine

More cold dreary Ohio days. I know, and sorry, this is supposed to be a travel blog and renovating my vintage trailer blog but give a girl a brake, its too cold for me. I need to be somewhere warm, this is absolutely the last year I spend in an Ohio winter and unlike all the years before I have said this, I mean it now. I need some sunlight! Little Sanitee should be hooked up and ready to go to the Rubber Tramp Renezvous. Just not going to happen this year. Bummer.

I have been working on art though and have sold a few more sets of cards off my little travel blog here. I also have my art blog set up. If you have time, please check it out.

When your home moves. Huh?

What might gypsys, veterans who have seen and done to much, retirees, homeless families, just tired of responsibilities, fixing your plumbing, mowing your yard, high property taxes, and high neighbors have in common? They may just share in common with many of us (me) a deep felt desire to get away from it all. Is it okay to feel this way, to shed the normal have a job, house, life and get a van or rv and live in it full time? Would that make us a dirty hobo or street person and does anybody really do that if they don't have to?
Wake up folks, there are lots of people that live in vans and cars because the want to or they have to.
This blog post is to introduce you to a worldwide tribe of people that proudly live on their own terms as best society will let them. Click  if you are curious. (you know you want to look).
You see this little old trailer? Thats my baby, when she gets road worthy, watch my tail lights. I'm the one tired of responsibility and high taxes and I'm going off in search of adventure and I don't care who knows. I don't care who  asks if I'm trying to reclaim my youth either.
To steal a quote from a blogger friend Steve at

What did I do?

Wow, what did I do to have several followers drop me?  I had 31 last night. This is depressing.

Need Christmas cards or tags?  This is a free download, or I guess I should say a free right click and save to your computer. I painted the little bird back in the summer and fancied it up for Christmas. If you shrink it, you may make tags for presents.  You may also send it to friends. Just remember where you got it, I work for praise.

Free Original Art For You!

Update, sorry, this set is no longer available, I will be posting a new set.

Many of us bloggers have donation tabs to help keep us from abject poverty in the economy. When life was beautiful with chirping birds and basket weavers a few years back before bad poo poo hit the fan I actually made a very good living as an artist. Yes, I should have listened to my parents 40 years ago and got a degree in something other than fine arts, all my friends were already persuing promising social work and anthropology degrees which assured them high paying jobs at GM and  other Union jobs in town. I marched to my own drummer, which I will never regret and stumbled thru life as an artist. It payed off and allowed me to be self employed for many years. In an economy such as this, buying from an actual artist is a luxury. The manufacturing plants have shut down and moved elsewhere in the world and there is little disposable income to support the arts.
I am giving away 7 free art cards free including shipping in the USA. All you have to do is click the Paypal donation button and send 10 measly little dollars electronically to me. I made the cards, they are altered art, collages with deminsional aspects. The pictures were of course painted by me. Each one is original. This set is called Koi Set One and includes a teaser card to make you want to come back and order my Birds and Bees Collection.  Email is okay but a real little piece of art you can send with your message, priceless and collectable and thoughtful. These may even be framed. There are 2 each of the 3 Koi, 1 Birds and Bees card packaged and ready for gift giving. 4"X6" ready to write in and mail in its envelope.
